Since i am in a hiatus stage, i hate to say this but i lose my office charm. Yes, I did. i don’t go in the office often. for a week, i am working only for three days. Actually it’s a good thing since i regain my enthusiasm with my old romantic flicks. I’ve spent sleepless nights watching my favorite romantic flicks. It’s kind of weird because I know I’ll be thinking of singleness and blessedness situation again. i mean come on, I am human and i do feel that longing feeling for someone. I don’t have any serious relationship before and if I would have one, I’ll make sure that it will be for keeps. So, enough of my own sentiments…
Being at home again, is a lucky nightmare as me and my sister called it. So I gather all over again my DVD’s VCD’s collection and created a list of must-seen! I know kind of lame and sound very geeky but I can’t help it I am a sucker for romantic movies. The first movie in my list… the book that I am currently reading— THE NOTEBOOK.

This is the first time that I appreciate the movie which can be separated from its original source. I loved the book of course but the movie can stand alone. The lines are superb. The acting is very real– Real- time acting. I was engrossed with the movie; fell in love with the cinematography. There is something about Nicholas Sparks’ movies; aside from the fact that most of them were situated in North Carolina, the way he describes it was well taken in video presentation of the movie.

As I finished the movie, I got goose bumped in the end. Others called it tragic; many considered it as a love story… But for me I love to call it as a “manifestation”. Love is in the air. Something you can feel can’t touch but long lasting. I wish I can make a screenplay as something THE NOTEBOOK offers. The movie makes my day and even gave me the drive to watch more…

Next in line was another Nicholas Sparks’ classic- “A Walk to Remember”.

I know you may think that it’s very high school and very not me but there’s something about this movie that I enjoyed the most— is the Mandy Moore and Shane West teamed- up. Okey, I admit! I love romance and also the impossibilities.

I love miracles and this movie gives me a heck of what it should mean. It’s not biblical as the book, but they were able to present it as something kids in this generation can appreciate. I love the songs and I love how Moore was able to render it. Kudos to the people behind this incredible movie!

I’ve been addicted and I have to see my top favorite— TWO WEEKS NOTICE.

Everything that involves Sandra Bullock and Hugh Grant I admit – it is the one thing I can’t resist. I love their movies and seeing them being teamed-up in a romantic flick is a plus, a bonus in my part. I love chatting, talking to a person I like and this movie was all about that.

The movie maybe boring for others but for me never… Even I’ve seen it zillion times, I can’t resist the charm, wit of Sandra and how she turns every scene to a comic one. The way she looks at Hugh and the way Hugh looks at her is something I admired the most.

The movie is very canny and I wouldn’t trade it with any movie. I just loved how the writer showed the most romantic gestures in a very unpredictable way. Must see, must have and will be in my romantic list as first… Count on that!
LOVE ACTUALLY must make my hiatus week and it does.

I can’t resist the turn over of events as I saw it again. I saw it more than 4 times, but this is the time that I cried and shed tears most. I can’t help it but I was carried away as love was able to express in all aspects– friendship, Romantic relationship, couples, siblings, employee to employer, and father to his step-son.

Love was also explained as something you will feel in a certain time which could be right or wrong . I just enjoyed seeing the simplicity of the movie knowing it was a star-studded production. It has a simple message to everyone: “All we need is love” and “Love is all around me”. — Or should I say us…
The next day, I look for another pile and the list that I created. And I was happy seeing my high school cum college romantic movie that filled my lonely nights… I am taking about— 10 THINGS I HATE ABOUT YOU.

I know, very sad but the man is dead. But I remember every detail in the movie. Heath Ledger’s performance singing Can’t Take my Eyes of You is the must see// scene in the movie. Julia Stiles acting is also a plus. I love high school thingies but this one rocks my world, my entire student days. I even memorized the lines for god’s sake… and what so funny about it is that how I enjoyed the poem even until now. It’s just so me that I enjoyed reminiscin’ and laughing with the flick that I grow up with.

NEVER BEEN KISSED is another flick that I shouldn’t miss.

There is something about Drew Barrymore that makes me shiver. Naks! As if I’m a lesbo, ewww!. Anyways, I just enjoyed the film as it is. How funny it was. David Arquette playing as Rob in the movie makes my Day! This romantic flicks makes me laugh everytime I watched it, if others makes me cry and is very heart breaking, this movie is more of a feel good. I am regaining confidence because of this. I don’t mind watching it all over again. Something I love looking forward too…

MISS CONGENIALITY it’s not just a romantic flick but a combination of action and comedy.

I haven’t thought that there is romance in beauty pageants but with MC which star the ever lovable Sandra, it cracked the hell out of it.

What I enjoy about the movie is Bullock’s transformation– Very sexy, gorgeous on her own, and very funny! I just fell in love with the movie all over again
I couldn’t finish my movie marathon without this legendary piece- REALITY BITES.

I am a sucker for Winona Ryder and not just a fan; I loved being a part of her. Okey stop with my stupidest comment, but Winona and Ethan Hawke are the most unlikely couple a romantic movie will ever have.

Aside from that I am kind of addicted with the movie that I even memorized the songs, the lines and even have products take note- stamps, note pads, etc. with me, is quite explainable. The movie was a breakthrough and that should be accounted to the man behind it- Ben Stiller.

My soulful says it all and since I am a struggling writer this movie must be in my freaking list and I will not forgive myself if I will forget it… I am talking about— HOW TO LOSE A GUY IN 10 DAYS.

Okey, many find it very common, not that intriguing. I don’t care but I have this thing called I am very affected. I don’t know maybe I am just going ga-ga about many things and the movie helped me in some way. The movie which stars the beautiful mom Kate Hudson and the dashing Matthew Mc Counaughey, is about a relationship that is very user-friendly.

They used one another for the fulfillment of their career. It maybe sooo common for others but for me I enjoyed every part of it. The lines make me laugh and so were the characters. I can relate as they say and maybe it’s the main reason why I include it.

Lastly, the Indie film that was produced by Tom Hanks and was written by the star herself Nia VArdolos none other than– MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING.

It was well written and well produced. Though it’s Indie, the plot is something I love. It’s very Greek as the writer is, but she wrote it with high respect with her heritage and how the man of his life would love to blend with her family. I saw it very Pinoy rin. Filipinos prioritize things that Greeks also look and think as very important. Family comes first and should be respectful in every decision one should create. I cried at the start of movie, laugh a lot in the middle and fall in love in the end.

There is something about film that I am very fond of –the way they moved me. This is the reason why I really wanted to have my own. In the meantime, since I am figuring out how I will take my crash course on film, I will enjoy all the romantic flicks I have. And there are still a lot of them coming, teaching me to be a one hell-romantic!
